BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Ken Skupski was selected to the ITA All-American team for a second consecutive year and highlighted the Tigers’ finish in the final Fila national rankings.
Skupski, who posted a 30-9 record on the year as LSU’s No. 1 singles player, reached the round of 32 in the NCAA Singles Championships before being forced to withdraw due to back injuries. The Liverpool, England native was ranked 19th in the final singles poll of the season.
Skupski also competed in the NCAA Doubles Championships with Tiger senior Mark Growcott. The pair reached the round of 16 but were beaten by Peperdine’s 2nd-ranked tandem of Scott Doerner and Andre Begemann. Skupski and Growcott ranked No. 17 in the final ITA doubles poll.
LSU’s No. 2 doubles pair of Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston ended the season ranked 43rd.
As a team the Tigers ranked fifth in the Southeast region behind Florida, Ole Miss, Miami and Georgia.
