BATON ROUGE — LSU men’s basketball coach John Brady will be in the Shreveport-Bossier City area on Sunday and Monday to take part in the annual Christus Schumpert Children’s Hospital Golf Classic.

The event benefits the Hal Sutton Children’s Medical Center in Shreveport, named after the long-time professional golf star from the Shreveport area. Sutton has hosted the annual event for several years along with Shreveport’s other top PGA star, David Toms, who played his college golf at LSU.

Brady will take part Sunday in the Tim Brando Celebrity Shootout at 1 p.m. at Olde Oaks Golf Course in Bossier City. This annual prelude to the main event on Monday features the nationally known television and radio personality hosting a group of friends for a fast-paced, laugh-filled afternoon of golf as only Brando can deliver. This year’s Shootout is expected to include former LSU football stars Eddie Kennison and Booger McFarland, former Georgia Tech basketball coach Bobby Cremins and Mr. Belding from “Saved By the Bell”, Dennis Haskins among others.

The LSU Coach, the SEC Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to the NCAA Final Four, will also take part in Monday’s Classic which has raised money for the Sutton Children’s Center as will Sutton, Toms and several PGA stars who will be coming to Shreveport after the conclusion of the Colonial event in Fort Worth this weekend.

The event, including the Celebrity Shootout, will be featured later this summer on a Golf Channel special.
