BATON ROUGE — LSU has sold out of reserved all-session tickets for the NCAA Softball Baton Rouge Regional this weekend at Tiger Park and has approximately 220 general admission all-session tickets remaining.
The general admission all-session tickets remain on sale for $40 for adults and $25 for youth under 12 on LSUsports.net and at the LSU ticket office. If all-session tickets are not sold out, then single-session tickets will go on sale on Friday for $6 for adults and $4 for youth under 12.
The four-team double-elimination regional will begin play on Friday and conclude on Sunday with the winner advancing to Super Regional play next weekend. Baton Rouge Regional action will kick off on Friday at 4 p.m. with second-seeded NC State against third-seeded UL-Lafayette. Play will conclude on Friday with top-seeded LSU facing fourth-seeded Princeton at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the winner of game one will face the winner of game two at 1 p.m. The loser of game one and the loser of game two will face off in an elimination game at 4 p.m. The day will conclude with the loser of game three facing the winner of game four for the right to advance to championship Sunday.
The NCAA Regional will conclude on Sunday with the winner of game three taking on the winner of game five at 1 p.m. If the game five winner defeats the game three winner in game six, the pair will square off once again at 4 p.m. Cox Sports will carry the 1 p.m. game and the 4 p.m. game if necessary.
Sixteen seeded teams have be placed at one of the regional sites. Four teams will participate at each of sixteen regional sites in a double-elimination tournament. The sixteen teams advancing from regional competition will participate in a two-team, best of three super regional at eight sites on Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27. The Women’s College World Series, which begins June 1, will include the eight super regional winners.
