BATON ROUGE — For a second consecutive year LSU men’s tennis player Danny Bryan was selected as a member of the SEC Good Works Team, the league office announced Thursday.
The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams in all 20 sports. The Good Works Team looks to highlight athletes from the SEC who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
Bryan is member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the CHAMPS Life Skills Program. He participated in the Halloween BOOZAR, where he and teammates played tennis with trick-or-treaters. Bryan also volunteered for the Christmas toy drive, in which the men’s tennis team raised money and gave presents to an underprivileged boy. In November the New Orleans native participated in “Clippin’ for Katrina”, where he allowed students to shave his head in order to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The Tiger junior is one half of the nation’s No. 38-ranked doubles team, along with partner Colt Gaston and was selected by the tennis team to be the squad’s co-captain.
