BATON ROUGE — LSU women’s tennis senior Lauren Seaman has been named to the Southeastern Conference’s Good Works Team, the league announced Thursday.
Seaman, a senior from Metairie, La., is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council and also is involved in the CHAMPS/Life Skills Program, where athletes reach out to the community by participating in different activities each semester. She spearheaded the Christmas toy drive for the women’s tennis team, in which the Lady Tigers raised money and bought presents for an underprivileged child.
A mainstay at No. 2 singles when healthy, Seaman also was a dominant doubles player throughout her career. She was ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s top 50 with two separate partners throughout the last three years.
The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams in all 20 sports. The Good Works Team looks to highlight athletes from the SEC who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
