BOSTON — LSU’s first full day here for the 2006 NCAA Women’s Final Four began with practice and was capped by the annual Salute Dinner.
The Lady Tigers, in the program’s third straight NCAA Final Four, practice for just over an hour and a half at Emmanuel College’s gymnasium in Boston on Friday morning.
Following the practice session, LSU’s starters; Seimone Augustus, Sylvia Fowles, Scholanda Hoston, Erica White and Ashley Thomas, along with head coach Pokey Chatman spent two hours with ESPN at the TD Banknorth Garden conducting interviews and recording the opening for Sunday night’s broadcast of the two national semifinal games.
The day ended with the NCAA’s annual Salute Dinner at Boston’s Park Plaza Hotel. Debbie Antonelli and Beth Mowins hosted the event that honors the four teams that advanced to Boston.
Chatman and Augustus spent time on center stage in a question and answer session with the two hosts and members of Duke, Maryland and North Carolina’s teams.
Saturday will be the first time LSU will practice on site at the TD Banknorth Garden. The Lady Tigers will begin the day at the Garden with media obligations before holding an autograph session from 2:20-2:50 p.m. EST and the practice (open to the public) from 3:15-4:15 p.m. on the floor of the Garden.
