BOSTON — LSU’s women’s basketball team arrived for the 2006 Women’s Final Four on Thursday afternoon to a grand welcome by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).
After a smooth three hour flight into Boston’s Logan International Airport, LSU’s team and support staff were greeted at the Wyndham Hotel in downtown Boston by a Revolutionary War era fife and drum corps and a town crier. The Boston LOC presented the team and coaches with a gift.
LSU, the San Antonio Regional Champion, plays Duke, the Bridgeport Regional Champion, on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. CST in the national semifinals in Boston’s TD Banknorth Garden.
The team is scheduled to practice on Friday morning before take part in ESPN interviews at the Garden.
The Lady Tigers, as well as Duke, Maryland and North Carolina, will be honored on Friday evening at the annual Salute Dinner.
