BATON ROUGE — LSU forward Glen Davis was named one of the 10 members of the John Wooden Award All-America team announced Tuesday by the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
A panel of over 1,000 voters comprised of sports media members and college basketball experts from around the national voted for both the 10-member All-American team and the Wooden Award recipient that will be announced on April 8 on CBS Sports. Members were asked to rank their top 10 All-Americans in order of preference, with the top five vote getters nominated as Wooden Awards finalists.
Davis is joined on the All-America team by Dee Brown of Illinois, Randy Foye of Villanova, Adam Morrison of Gonzaga, Kevin Pittsnogle of West Virginia, Allan Ray of Villanova, J.J. Redick of Duke, Brandon Roy of Washington, Craig Smith of Boston College and Shelden Williams of Duke.
Foye, Morrison, Redick, Roy and Williams are the final five for the 2006 Wooden Award.
The Associated Press named Davis on Monday, a third-team All-American.
