Dalman, Gloeckner Complete NCAA’s in 40th

ATLANTA — Sophomore diver Niko Dalman placed 12th in the platform competition and freshman Julius Gloeckner finished 23rd in the 200 butterfly to help LSU to a 40th-place team finish Saturday night at the Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Gloeckner swam a preliminary time of 1:48.19 in his final event, one day after earning honorable mention All-America honors in the 400 individual medley for his 15th-place finish.

Dalman concluded the meet with a score of 289.35 in the platform. The sophomore was 20th in the 1-meter Thursday and 21st in the 3-meter Friday.

Auburn claimed its fourth straight national title, accumulating 480.5 points during the three-day event. Arizona was second (440.5) and Stanford was third (362.5). Florida was the next highest SEC finisher taking fifth. LSU tallied seven points to enter the Top 40.
