BATON ROUGE — LSU’s men’s tennis match against UL-Lafayette, which was rained out Monday, will not be finished on Tuesday according to LSU head coach Jeff Brown.
It was possible for the match to be finished today at 2 p.m. prior to the LSU women’s tennis match versus Kansas, but class schedules prevented ULL’s men from being able to return.
A makeup match later in the season is still possible and may be announced in the coming weeks.

BATON ROUGE — After several rain delays, weather eventually forced LSU men’s tennis match Monday against UL-Lafayette to be postponed.
The 25th-ranked Tigers and UL-Lafayette battled through unfavorable conditions to finish the doubles point, but steady rain ended the contest as the singles competition was beginning.
LSU held off a pesky Cajun squad to claim the doubles point. Though the Tigers took all three matches, the doubles contests on court two and court three were decided in tiebreakers.
Ken Skupski and Mark Growcott took out ULL’s Evghenii Corduneanu and Arlen Domoney, 8-6 on court No. 1. The Tiger pair were down, 6-4, when rain halted the match for a second time. When play resumed Skupski and Growcott dominated, winning four straight games and taking the match.
The Tigers’ No. 2 doubles tandem of Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston found themselves tied at 8-8. However, the LSU duo overpowered Shaun Ellison and Robin Ley in the tiebreaker, 7-1.
LSU took early and early lead on court three, where James Cluskey and Paul White battled the Cajuns’ Dusan Tabak and Amonjat Singh. After a ULL rally, White and Cluskey managed to escape with a victory, 9-8 (6).
Hard rain began to fall with most of the singles matches still in the first set and ended any chance of finishing the match on Monday.
The match may be continued at 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the LSU women’s tennis team’s match against Kansas. A decision is expected at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
