BATON ROUGE — The 25th-ranked LSU men’s tennis team will host in state rival UL-Lafayette on at 2 p.m. Monday at W. T. Robinson Tennis Stadium.
The Tigers (9-6 2-2 SEC) were rained out in their against Texas A&M on Thursday and will look to regain their form before returning to SEC play next weekend.
LSU has dominated the series and holds a spotless 14-0 all-time record against ULL. However, this year’s Cajun squad should pose a formidable challenge for the Tigers.
ULL (7-3) is coming off of a 7-0 sweep of Iowa on Saturday. The Cajuns, who rank 45th in the latest ITA poll, picked up their best win of the season against Florida State on Jan. 26 in Tallahassee.
“This is not a team that we’re going to take lightly,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “They have a good team and, they definitely have the points in their lineup to beat anyone.”
LSU will be back in conference play Friday when it welcomes 31st-ranked SEC Eastern Division foe South Carolina to Baton Rouge.
