LEXINGTON, Ky. — LSU divers Hali Saucier and Alyson Thomas reached the 3-meter springboard finals Saturday as the second day of competition at the NCAA Zone B Meet came to a close at the Lancaster Aquatic Center.
Saucier posted an eighth-place finish with a final score of 570.90, and Thomas took 17th with a tally of 520.15. Auburn’s Corey Gerlach won the event in a finish of 647.85.
One day after qualifying for the NCAA Championships, sophomore Niko Dalman finished seventh in the 1-meter with a score of 595.85. Regardless of his finish on Saturday or Sunday, Dalman is already guaranteed a spot for the national championships, March 23-25, in Atlanta, Ga.
Freshman Nathan Schreiber also reached the finals on Saturday, scoring a 19th-place finish of 511.75. Georgia’s Chris Colwill and Auburn’s Steven Segerlin earned 1-2 finishes for the second consecutive day.
Saucier, Thomas and Schreiber each have a chance to solidify their hopes for an NCAA berth in the platform competition, beginning at 9 a.m. CST Sunday.
Automatic and at-large berths to both championship meets are scheduled to be filled by Sunday evening.
