Tiger Tennis Seeks Weekend Split at Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE — Following a 4-3 loss at Kentucky on Friday, the No. 17-ranked LSU men’s tennis team will try to even its SEC record Sunday when it takes on Vanderbilt at the Currey Tennis Facility in Nashville at 1 p.m.

The Tigers (8-6, 1-2 SEC) will look to find consistency that they have been lacking in there singles play over their past five matches.

“We just have to step up and get the job done,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “We haven’t been playing up to the level we’re capable of and we have to do that before we’re going to be successful.”

Vanderbilt (4-6, 0-3 SEC) has struggled in conference play, dropping its first three conference matches.

The Commodores will feature 55th-ranked singles player Ryan Preston. The Vanderbilt sophomore is currently on a two match losing streak and could prove a dangerous opponent for LSU’s No. 1 singles player 38th-ranked Ken Skupski.

LSU will be home again next weekend when it goes out of conference to face Texas A&M and UL-Lafayette.
