BATON ROUGE — LSU head gymnastics coach D-D Breaux will serve as the honorary chairperson at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure in Baton Rouge Saturday.
“This is a great cause that I am passionate about, for personal reasons that are very close to my heart and also for the obvious reasons,” said Breaux. “I have truly been honored to be associated with the Koman Baton Rouge Race for the Cure.”
The event, which consists of two races, a mile run at 8:30 a.m. and a 5K race at 9 a.m., will start and finish on North Blvd. and Fourth Street.
Further information on the race can be found online at www.batonrougekomen.org.
Breaux, a long time supporter of breast cancer awareness, has also gotten her team involved in promoting awareness for the cause.
The past two years Breaux and her Tiger athletes have joined with the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority on campus to host a pancake breakfast where all monies raised were donated to the cause. In addition, the team helped raise money for the YWCA Pink Ribbon Campaign at Tigers soccer and volleyball games this fall.
