BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team slipped to No. 24 in the latest poll released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday.
The Tigers (7-4) are coming off back-to-back, 4-3, losses to No. 15 Clemson and 23rd-ranked TCU. LSU was forced to play both matches without sophomore Colt Gaston, who has been a consistent point for the team this season.
Individual rankings were not released this week. Junior Ken Skupski remains at No. 20 in the singles rankings. Skupski picked up two more singles wins last week and defeated his eighth ranked opponent of the season.
Colt Gaston and Danny Bryan remain at No. 28 in the doubles rankings, while Skupski and partner Mark Growcott are 10th.
LSU will open up its SEC schedule Friday at 2 p.m. against Tennessee at W. T. Robinson Tennis Stadium. The Tigers will then face the nation’s No. 1 team in SEC East foe Georgia on Sunday at 1 p.m.
