BATON ROUGE — The Tigers, off wins at Vanderbilt and at home against Kentucky, moved up three spots to No. 21 in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today men’s basketball polls announced on Monday.
The Tigers, 24th last week, are in the polls for the third straight week and for the fifth time this season.
LSU, scheduled to play at South Carolina on Tuesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN, is making its 17th appearance in the AP poll since first making the poll on Dec. 16, 1952. The Tigers five poll appearances this season is the most since making the poll nine times during the 1999-2000 season.
LSU’s record as a ranked team is 232-82 and 5-2 this year. LSU is 2-2 all-time as a team ranked 21st in the AP poll.
