BATON ROUGE — JP Sports has announced that the LSU-Ole Miss men’s basketball game will be the second game of its Saturday doubleheader and the game will tip off just after 3 p.m. for the regular season finale.
In addition, tipoff time for Tuesday evening’s road contest against South Carolina will be 6 p.m. CT. Schedule cards list the game as 8 p.m.
LSU enters the final week of the regular season with a one-game lead in the race for the overall regular season title after having clinched a second straight Western Division championship and the top seed in the Western Division for the SEC Tournament, which begins on March 9 in Nashville at the Gaylord Entertainment center.
JP Sports will televise the Tennessee at Vanderbilt game at 1 p.m. CST to be followed by the Ole Miss at LSU game at 3 p.m. LSU, no matter what the results of its game Tuesday night at South Carolina (6 p.m., ESPN), will play for at least a piece of the SEC championship Saturday against the Rebels. It will be Senior Day for LSU’s Darrel Mitchell and those ceremonies will take place at approximately 2:45 p.m.
The Tigers gained the one-game lead in the league title race after defeating Kentucky, 71-67, Saturday at the Maravich Center, while Arkansas was defeating Tennessee in Knoxville. The Volunteers will host Kentucky on Wednesday before traveling to Vanderbilt.
In case of a tie between LSU and Tennessee for the conference title, both will be declared conference champions.
