FORT WORTH, Texas — The 13th-ranked LSU men’s tennis team will try to rebound from a 4-3 loss to Clemson when they travel to TCU to face the Horned Frogs at noon Sunday at the Bayard H. Freidman Tennis Center.
According to LSU head coach Jeff Brown, the Tigers, now 7-3, will have to step up their play if they want to find any success Sunday.
“This is another good team,” said Brown. “If we’re going to win then we have to go out there, play and compete at the top of our ability.”
The Horned Frogs, currently ranked No. 32 in the nation, have gotten off to a 5-0 start, including wins over 23rd-ranked Texas Tech and 30th-ranked San Diego.
“It’s time for us come around and start playing the way we can,” said Brown. “This is a good team, but every team we face from now on is going to be a good team. We’ve got to play as hard as possible in every match.”
The Tigers are 13-5 all-time against the Horned Frogs. The two schools last met in 2002, when LSU beat TCU 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in College Station, Texas.
The Horned Frogs will be LSU’s last opponent before the Tigers begin SEC play against Tennessee in Baton Rouge on March 3.
