BATON ROUGE — Fresh off a two win performance at last weeks ITA Indoor Team Championships, the 13th-ranked LSU men’s tennis team will lead off Super Tiger Weekend when they host Clemson at 2 p.m. Thursday at W. T. Robinson Tennis Stadium.
The Tigers, 7-2, moved from 15th up to No. 13 in the ITA team rankings released Tuesday. Individual rankings were also released for the first time since Jan. 10.
Junior Ken Skupski moved up to No. 20 in the singles rankings. Skupski is also ranked twice in the doubles poll, once at No. 20 with partner Mark Growcott and again with freshman James Cluskey at 49th.
LSU will have to be on top of its game Thursday against 22nd-ranked Clemson. The other Tigers are 10-2 and coached by the well-respected Chuck Kriese, now in his 30th-year with the school.
“We’re ready to go out there and face a really top notch program,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “Chuck Kriese is a legendary coach and he always brings a really intense team whenever he comes.”
