BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team will look to start off the dual match season on a winning note, when they host the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and the Centenary College Gents on Sunday at W.T. “Dub” Robinson Tennis Stadium.
The Southern Miss match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and the match against Centenary is slated for 5 p.m.
The Tigers are very familiar with both of Sunday’s opponents and boast a combined 37-0 record against the Eagles and the Gents. Both schools appeared on LSU’s 2005 schedule, with the Tigers winning 6-0 against Southern Miss and 7-0 against Centenary.
LSU is coming off of a strong showing last weekend at the SEC Coaches Indoor Championship, where junior Ken Skupski came away with his second straight singles title.
Despite last weekend’s success, LSU head coach Jeff Brown is anxious to see his team continue to make strides as they get into their dual match schedule.
“We’re looking forward to raising our level and improving from our good showing last week,” said Brown. “We want to make some improvements in our doubles play and hopefully get off the season off to a good start.”
