BATON ROUGE — A pair of LSU softball games against Tennessee have been picked up for broadcast by the ESPN networks, marking the first regular season appearances by the Tigers on the national network in school history.
LSU will travel to face the third-ranked Lady Vols at Tennessee Field at Tyson Park in Knoxville on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7, in a three-game Southeastern Conference series.
The first game of the series on May 6 will be aired on ESPN2 (Baton Rouge cable channel 36) beginning at noon ET (11 a.m. CT). The final game of the series on May 7 will be televised on ESPNU beginning at 1 p.m. ET (noon CT).
In addition to the two ESPN telecasts, Cox Sports Television will broadcast five LSU home games. The Tigers’ games against Georgia on March 18 (first game of the doubleheader), Auburn on April 9, Mississippi State on April 20 and Florida on April 29 (both games of the doubleheader) will air live on Baton Rouge cable channel 37.
LSU’s home game against South Carolina on April 2 will also be televised as part of the SEC-TV package on FoxSports Net Southwest in Baton Rouge on cable channel 38.
The addition of the two ESPN telecasts brings the Tigers’ total to a school record eight regular-season television appearances this year.
