BATON ROUGE ? LSU Chancellor Sean O’Keefe issued the following statement Friday upon learning of the New Orleans Saints’ plans to return to their training camp in Metairie.
“LSU has participated in the hurricane recovery efforts in many different ways, and we were proud to host four New Orleans Saints games on our campus this season as part of our state’s recovery. LSU stands ready to assist the state and to support the Saints in their transition back to Louisiana by making Tiger Stadium available if we are called upon again in 2006.
“I also want to express my sincere appreciation to NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue for his leadership in the months after the hurricanes as we worked together with the state to provide a home for the Saints.”
