BATON ROUGE — The LSU gymnastics team will be featured on television four times during the 2006 season it was announced Tuesday by the Southeastern Conference office.
Three of the Tigers regular season contests as well as the SEC Championships are all scheduled to be broadcast either nationally by ESPN2 or regionally by FOX Sports Net South, Sun Sports Network and FOX Sports Net Southwest. All meets will be aired on a tape delay basis.
LSU opens the season Jan. 6 with the Super Six Challenge at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The meet will be available in 88 million homes across the nation when it airs on ESPN2.
The network will again be on hand when the Tigers travel to Athens, Ga., for a dual meet with defending SEC and NCAA champions, Georgia, on Feb. 4.
LSU can then be seen on FOX Sports Net South, Sun Sports Network and FOX Sports Net Southwest when Alabama visits Baton Rouge on March 23.
The SEC Championships, scheduled for March 25 in Birmingham, Ala., will also be carried regionally by the three networks.
