BATON ROUGE — When the LSU men’s basketball team takes to the court for Tuesday night’s exhibition game against LSU-Shreveport, the LSU Sports Radio Network crew of Jim Hawthorne and Kevin Ford will be courtside for a rare exhibition broadcast.
But this broadcast will not be available on the normal network affiliates as this will be the first LSU basketball contest broadcast exclusively (audio and video) on the internet as part of a free sneak preview at the Geaux Zone on www.LSUsports.net.
The broadcast is scheduled to begin at approximately 6:55 p.m. on the website for the 7 p.m. Pete Maravich Assembly Center tilt which will serve as the final exhibition tune up for the LSU men’s team prior to opening the season with Southern University next Friday night.
The Geaux Zone — the subscription-based premium area of LSUsports.net — will feature live, streaming, full-game audio and video from several men and women’s basketball games this season.
Geaux Zone members who cannot watch or listen live in the Geaux Zone can watch all home games in archive form after the game.
Additionally, the Geaux Zone includes live audio of all LSU football, baseball and SEC softball games, as well as live video from home baseball games.
Premium membership in the Geaux Zone costs $9.95 per month or $99.95 annually. Those wishing only to listen to the live LSU Sports Radio Network audio broadcasts this season may join as Audio-Only members for only $4.95 per month or $49.95 annually.
The Tigers won their first exhibition game, 74-54, this past Thursday against EA Sports. Tickets for the Tiger-LSU-Shreveport game are available online and will be available on game night for $5 at the upper concourse ticket windows of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
