BATON ROUGE — The LSU volleyball team received a National Letter of Intent for Allen High School standout Alaina Klarquist, it was announced by Tiger head coach Fran Flory on Thursday.
The 6-1 outside hitter from Allen, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, is a two-time participant in the USA Volleyball High Performance Camp. She has twice been named a first-team all-district selection and led her team to the 2004 area championship and the regional finals.
“Alaina is a very talented athlete,” said Flory. “She is very dynamic and very offensive minded. She has a great feel for the game. She is a super competitive person. We are thrilled to have her at LSU and think that she will contribute early in her career.”

Klarquist
The 2003 Dallas Morning News and District 9-5A Newcomer of the Year, she led her team to a Class 5A state runner-up finish as a sophomore. In 2004, she earned Dallas Morning News All-Area honors and was named to the Duncanville, Allen and Pearland All-Tournament teams.
This past season, she earned all-tournament honors once again at the Duncanville Tournament and was the Most Valuable Player at the Coppell Tournament. She led her team with 381 kills, while hitting at a .227 clip. In addition, she ranked second on the team with 67 blocks and 80 service aces.
A member of the Texas Advantage Volleyball Club, where current Tiger Daniela Romero also played club volleyball, Klarquist is the daughter of John and Kimbra Klarquist.
