BATON ROUGE — Fresh off of its thrilling 4-3 victory over Arkansas on Friday to earn a spot in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, the LSU soccer team will face the Southern Lady Jaguars in its regular season finale Monday at 7 p.m. at the LSU Soccer Complex.
The Tigers (7-9-2, 3-7-1 SEC) are 2-0 all-time in the series and have outscored the Lady Jaguars by a total of 19-0 in those two games, including a 10-0 shutout at the LSU Soccer Complex last season. Southern enters the match riding a four-game winning streak in the Southwestern Athletic Conference and is 4-8 overall and 4-5 in SWAC play this season.
“We’re happy to have the opportunity to play another game in preparation for the SEC Tournament,” said LSU head coach Brian Lee. “We have a great challenge ahead of us this week, but we’re looking forward to playing Southern on Monday night.”
Admission to Monday’s match is free and all are welcome to come and cheer on the Tigers as they prepare for their first SEC Tournament appearance since 2002. The Tigers enter the tournament as the No. 8 seed and will face the top-seeded Tennessee Lady Volunteers in the first round on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Orange Beach Soccer Complex in Orange Beach, Ala.
