BATON ROUGE — LSU running back Joseph Addai and linebacker Ali Highsmith were honored as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association players of the week for their efforts in LSU’s 21-17 win over Florida Saturday in Tiger Stadium.
Addai rushed for a career-best 156 yards on a career high 32 carries against the Gators. He scored the game-winning touchdown with a three-yard run with just over 12 minutes left in the contest. He finished with a career-best 202 all-purpose yards after catching three passes for 37 yards and returning a kickoff 12 yards. Addai has scored at least one rushing touchdown in all of LSU’s games this season.
Highsmith led the Tigers with a career-best nine tackles, including six solo stops, with four tackles for 18 yards in losses and two sacks. He led an LSU defense that limited Florida to a season-low 206 yards, which included just 107 passing yards. For his efforts, Highsmith was a named the Southeastern Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week.
