BATON ROUGE — One lucky fan in attendance at Friday’s “Party at Pete’s Palace,” the first basketball of the season, will be chosen to compete for a chance to win a 2006 Nissan Titan.
The fan will be randomly chosen from the crowd to come down to the floor of the Maravich Center to perform a progressive shot contest. The fan will have to make a lay-up, a free throw, a three pointer and a half court shot in 24 seconds to win the truck.
The event is scheduled to begin following the LSU volleyball home opener against Mississippi State that begins at 6 p.m. CDT.
There will be no admission charged for the evening’s activities, including the volleyball match.
Special guest for the evening will be nationally-known comedian Mark Curry, best known for his five seasons as the star of “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” on ABC-TV. The volleyball match and the “Party at Pete’s Palace” also mark the athletic competition debut for the “new” Maravich Center, reconfigured with new seating to a capacity of 13,472 and additional restrooms on the concourse level.
