TULSA, Okla. — LSU mens tennis player Ken Skupski was defeated in the the quaterfinals of singles consolation play on Saturday at the Polo Raplph Lauren ITA All-American Championships.
Skupski, the final Tiger in action, fell to Marek Velicka the nation’s No. 35 player, 6-2, 6-4.
“Velicka played well and Ken couldn’t take advantage of his opportunities,” LSU associate head coach Mark Booras said.
According to Booras, the Tigers have a lot to take away from this week’s tournament.
“We had a good run in a couple matches, but it reminds us of where we are,” said Booras. “We know what it takes now to keep those top rankings and I think the guys are anxious to get back to practice next week.”
LSU will next play at the ITA Southeast Regionals in Memphis, Tenn., on Oct. 13.
