BATON ROUGE — After going 1-1 last weekend, the LSU volleyball team dropped out the CSTV/AVCA Coaches Poll this week, but remain highly listed among the other teams receiving votes for the poll.

The Tigers (13-2, 3-1 SEC) entered the poll last week at No. 24 after sweeping Tennessee, which is also receiving votes, in Fayetteville, Ark., in their second Southeastern Conference match of the year. It marked the first time in 13 years that LSU appeared in the poll and the first appearance under head coach Fran Flory.

The Tigers are currently tied for SEC Western Division lead after two weeks and trail only Florida in the overall league standings. LSU dropped a four-game decision to Alabama on the road last weekend, only the second loss for the Tigers this season.

This week, the Tigers travel to Fayetteville once again to face Arkansas, in a match that could prove crucial to the eventual conference standings. The Lady Razorbacks are currently tied with LSU for the SEC West lead and have won the division title 10 of the last 11 years.

Last season, the Tigers defeated Arkansas in four games in Fayetteville in the final regular season match of the year. It marked the first time LSU had knocked off the Lady’Backs on the road since 2001.

The Tigers will conclude their seven-week road trip this weekend at Kentucky. The match against the Wildcats will be televised on Cox Sports Television in Baton Rouge on cable channel 37 at 12:30 p.m.
