BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The LSU women’s tennis team closed out play in the Indiana Hoosier Classic with three doubles wins Sunday.
“We played really well today,” head coach Tony Minnis said of his team. “I was actually really pleased with the effort and the results we had.”
Marina Chiarelli and Mykala Hedberg won their first match over Kansas’ Elizaveta Andeeva and Ksenia Bukina, 8-2.
Lauren Seaman and Tiffany Tucker also saw success on the doubles courts Sunday. The duo defeated Katka Kudlackova and Tamar Kvaratskhelia of Kansas State, 8-6.
Since the wins by both pairs matched them up against one another, they instead each played the duo the other had beaten.
Seaman and Tucker continued their success, defeating the Kansas pair, 9-7. Chiarelli and Hedberg could not close out play with a win, however, as they fell to their Kansas State opponents, 8-5.
The Lady Tigers take a break from competition the next few weeks before returning to action in the ITA Southwest Regionals beginning Fri., Oct. 21.
