TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Senior Amanda Mang of the LSU women’s tennis team was named to the Southeastern Conference’s Good Works Team, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the second straight year the New Orleans native and Mount Carmel Academy graduate received this honor, as she was also part of the 2004 SEC Good Works Team last season.
Mang, the team’s lone senior, has participated in the LSU CHAMPS/Life Skills Program, where athletes reach out to the community by participating in different activities each semester.
Starting Thursday, she will participate in her final SEC Tournament at Alabama’s tennis courts in Tuscaloosa, Ala., as the Lady Tigers play Mississippi State.
She likely will face 15th-ranked Zsuzsanna Fodor in the No. 1 singles position looking to help her team to the second round.
