BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The draws for the 2005 SEC men’s and women’s tennis tournaments were released Sunday by the conference office.
The No. 15-ranked LSU men’s team (18-7, 5-6 SEC) earned an eighth seed and faces Auburn in the first round at 8 a.m. on Thursday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
The Lady Tigers (12-10, 4-7 SEC) earned a ninth seed and will face Mississippi State at 9 a.m. Thursday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. at the Alabama Tennis Complex.
Both squads finished their regular seasons last weekend with wins over Arkansas.
Both teams enter the tournament playing some of their best tennis of the season. The Lady Tigers have won five of their last six matches while the Tigers have won six matches in a row.
Tony Minnis, the women’s head coach, and Jeff Brown, men’s head coach, will both address the media Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at LSU’s weekly press luncheon at Walk-On’s.
