MIAMI, Fla. — The LSU soccer team will finish its spring season this Saturday at the 2005 Kicks Against Breast Cancer Tournament in Miami.
“We think this is a great capper for the spring,” said LSU head soccer coach Brian Lee. “The girls have done well overcoming the adversity they have faced this spring.”
The Tigers will face Miami (Fla.) and Marquette in the tournament. Florida Atlantic and Carmel United from Indiana round out the five-team tournament.
“This is probably our biggest test of the spring playing an ACC opponent and Marquette who is usually pretty good,” said Lee. “We are trying to accomplish a couple things on this trip including how well we play against tough opposition and implementing how we travel and represent LSU.”
Lee is 3-1-2 in his first spring season with LSU. The Tigers have defeated Tulane twice and UL-Lafayette.
Robyn DesOrmeaux will be a guest speaker at the banquet for the 2005 Kicks Against Breast Cancer Tournament. DesOrmeaux, a four-year starter for the Tigers, was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma this past fall following the completion of her senior season. The 23-year old is currently undergoing chemotherapy at the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.
