BATON ROUGE — Diving coach Doug Shaffer announced the signing of Ryanne Snyder, a La Mirada, Calif. native, on Friday.
Snyder prepped at La Mirada High School and was the 2004 CIF Division IV High School champion. She was also a standout club diver as a member of the Pacific Diving Academy.
“I am very excited that Ryanne has selected LSU to pursue her academics and athletics,” said Shaffer. “Ryanne is an ideal match for our program and will immediately add significant depth and strength to our diving squad.”
Snyder has been a proven athlete on the national level as well. She is a seven-time Junior National qualifier and a two-time Senior National qualifier. Snyder also qualified for the U.S. Open three times during her high school career.
“Ryanne is an excellent three event (1-meter, 3-meter and platform) diver with a wealth of Junior National experience,” added Shaffer. “This past year the LSU women divers were the fourth highest scoring team at the SEC Championships. The addition of Ryanne will help increase that mark.”
