BATON ROUGE — LSU head coach Les Miles will embark on a regional speaking tour beginning in May to meet the fans of Tiger football, and will be joined by other LSU personalities as he relates his plan for the future of the LSU football program.
The LSU Tiger Tour 2005, underwritten by Cox Sports Television and Eagle 98.1, is sponsored by the Tiger Athletic Foundation, and will include speaking appearances by LSU athletics director Skip Bertman and Tiger Athletic Foundation CEO Major General Ron Richard.
“I am looking forward to getting out across the region and meeting the great fans of LSU,” said Miles, who is beginning his first year as the Tigers’ head coach. “The support of the LSU Tigers is legendary, and I look forward to seeing the people that make this program so great.”
The LSU Tiger Tour 2005 begins in Lafayette at the Cajundome on May 4, followed by stops in Alexandria at the Riverfront Convention Center on May 5; Shreveport/Bossier City at the Horseshoe Casino Riverdome on May 9; Jackson, Miss., at the Hilton Hotel on May 12; Houston, Texas, at the Wyndam Greenspoint Hotel on May 15, and Covington at the Covington Country Club on May 19.
The tour continues in Thibodaux at the Thibodaux Civic Center on June 2; New Orleans at the New Orleans Hilton on July 24 and Lake Charles at the Isle of Capri Casino on July 27.
