BATON ROUGE — LSU swimmers Colleen Bertirotti and Kevin Braud will compete against the world’s best at the United States Swimming World Championship Trials, April 2-6, in Indianapolis, Ind.
The nation’s top qualifiers will represent the U.S. swim team at the World Championships this summer in Montreal, Canada. The World University Games take place, Aug. 11-21, in Izmir, Turkey.
Bertirotti had an excellent sophomore campaign this past season, proving to be one of the Lady Tigers most valuable swimmers. Bertirotti is rated among the nation’s top sprinters in the 50 freestyle, an event she will participate in on Sunday.
She qualified for the event with a seed time of 23.27.
Braud will swim in two events, beginning on Saturday with the men’s 100 backstroke. The freshman is seeded 35th with a time of 48.78. On Tuesday, Braud swims the 200 backstroke.
