BATON ROUGE — LSU’s second-ranked gymnastics team landed a conference-leading 11 student-athletes on the SEC’s Winter Academic Honor Roll it was announced this week by league commissioner Mike Slive.
A total of 50 gymnasts from throughout the conference were recognized for their academic success during the 2004 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
LSU seniors Lauren Companioni, Annie Gagnon and Jade Jenkins each received the honor for the third straight year, while juniors Kelly Lea and Terin Martinjak were named to the list for the second time. In addition, senior Katherine Hilton, juniors April Burkholder, Megan Durning and Rikki L’Heureux as well as sophomores Kelly Phelan and Lisa Rennie were each honored for the first time in their careers.
The Tigers return to action this Saturday when they travel to Duluth, Ga., for the 2005 SEC Championships.
