LSU Sports Network, Guaranty Broadcasting to Air All Major Events this Weekend

BATON ROUGE — The LSU Sports Network, in conjunction with Baton Rouge flagship Guaranty Broadcasting, are working together to allow LSU fans the opportunity to hear live coverage of all the women’s basketball, baseball and softball games scheduled this weekend.

In all, starting Friday night at 6 p.m., seven different games will be broadcast in the three sports through Easter Sunday afternoon, with the primary concentration of events scheduled for Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. and continuing throughout the afternoon.

“We are very appreciative of Guaranty Broadcasting for their cooperation and thoughtfulness in getting all these events on for our LSU fans to enjoy,” said LSU Assistant Athletic Director for Radio Jim Hawthorne. “Owen Weber, the General Manager of Guaranty Broadcasting, and our athletic administration should be commended for working through a complex situation with our broadcast affiliates to showcase our teams.”

The weekend begins with softball and baseball on Friday night. LSU’s baseball game with Auburn will be heard on Eagle 98.1 FM beginning at 6:30 p.m., while LSU’s softball game with Alabama at 6 p.m. will be broadcast on Country Legends 107.3 FM.

Saturday’s broadcast day begins with the NCAA Sweet 16 matchup from the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament’s Chattanooga Regional as top-seed LSU takes on 13th-seed Liberty. Patrick Wright and Brian Miller will have the call of the game on Country Legends 107.3 FM. That game will also be available on the full LSU Sports Network across the state beginning with the pre-game show at 10:30 a.m.

Following the basketball game, both baseball and softball will continue their series Saturday at 2 p.m. The baseball will be heard again on Eagle 98.1 FM and the full LSU network, while the softball doubleheader will be simulcast and available in the Baton Rouge area only on two radio stations, KNXX (104.5 FM) and WNXX (104.9 FM). This is a change from the usual Guaranty station for softball, but this allows both games of the Saturday softball doubleheader to be broadcast uninterrupted.

Easter Sunday, the baseball team concludes its series with a 1 p.m. game on Eagle 98.1 FM.

If the women’s basketball team wins its game on Saturday and advances to the NCAA Elite 8 round, that game will be on Country Legends 107.3 FM on Monday at a time to be announced.
