BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team jumped four spots to No. 16 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll released Tuesday after winning two matches last week.
The Tigers (12-5, 0-4 SEC) beat South Florida, 6-1 on Thursday and Michigan, 5-2 on Sunday.
LSU had its best showing of the year in the individual polls with three doubles teams and three singles players listed in the rankings. Sophomore Ken Skupski and junior Mark Growcott kept their No. 6 ranking in the doubles poll. Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston returned to the rankings at No. 37. Bryan was also ranked with Jason Hazley at No. 46.
In singles, Skupski slipped two places to No. 12. Hazley climbed 16 spots to No. 83. Growcott was ranked in singles for the first time this season at No. 84.
The Tigers were ranked fourth among Southeastern Conference teams. Ole Miss, Georgia and Florida were all in the top-10. Mississippi State was 15th and Tennessee was 21st.
LSU returns to SEC action this week against Kentucky on Friday and Vanderbilt on Sunday.
