BATON ROUGE — The No. 20 LSU men’s tennis team plays its second non-conference match of the week Sunday when it hosts Michigan (9-4) at noon at the W.T. Robinson Stadium.
The Tigers (11-5, 0-4 SEC) had a strong showing in their first match of the weekend, a 6-1 win Thursday over South Florida.
“We’re coming off good performance the other day,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “We’re looking to continue at that level of intensity and use our home court to our advantage.”
Michigan does not have any ranked singles players or doubles teams to pit against LSU, which has two of each. But Brown said the match will not be an easy one.
“They’re a strong team,” Brown said. “They’ve got a young team but they’re getting better as the year goes on.”
LSU is playing the second of a four-match home stretch that follows eight road matches.
“This is an opportunity for us to gain some momentum before we get back into SEC’s,” Brown said.
