BATON ROUGE — The LSU soccer team will host a Round “Robyn” Tournament Saturday in honor of senior goalkeeper Robyn DesOrmeaux at the LSU Soccer Complex.
The tournament starts at 10 a.m. with the final game scheduled for 2 p.m. The tournament is strictly a round robin format with no semifinal or championship games. All games will be 40 minutes in length with no half time.
LSU, McNeese State and UL-Lafayette headline the six team field.
DesOrmeaux was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a rare form of malignant cancer, last fall. A native of Carencro, she started 50 of LSU’s 58 games during her career. She ranks second in career saves and shutouts at LSU. In 2003 she was named the team’s defensive MVP and was selected to the All-Louisiana Soccer Team.
