BATON ROUGE — Robyn DesOrmeaux, a former LSU goalkeeper diagnosed with cancer, will be featured on SEC-TV Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. on Baton Rouge cable channel 38.

DesOrmeaux, a four-year starter for the Tigers, was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma this past fall following the completion of her senior season. The 23-year old is currently undergoing chemotherapy at the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

SEC-TV will spotlight DesOrmeaux and her fight against the rare form of malignant cancer.

The Carencro, La., native started 50 of her 58 career games with the Tigers and finished her career ranked second all-time in both saves and shutouts at LSU. DesOrmeaux, the team’s defensive MVP in 2003, was named an All-Louisiana selection that same season.

LSU has set up a donation fund through Bank One to help offset the cost of DesOrmeaux’s medical expenses. Any Tiger fan wanting to make a financial contribution can make checks payable to the Robyn DesOrmeaux Donation Trust at any Louisiana Bank One location.
