BOISE, Idaho — The LSU men’s basketball team, the Bengal Brass Basketball Band and the LSU Tiger Girls all arrived here Tuesday evening following a charter flight from Baton Rouge.
The LSU party flew up on Tuesday, departing Baton Rouge at approximately 3:20 p.m. CST and arriving in Boise at approximately 5:55 p.m. MST to begin final preparations for its NCAA First Round game with UAB scheduled for Thursday night at 7:50 p.m. MST at the Taco Bell Arena on the Boise State University campus.
The Tigers went through a one-hour workout Tuesday night at Mountain View High School in Boise, in a brand new facility that has been open less than two years. The Tigers went through some shooting drills and a lot of 5-0 work during the practice session.
On Wednesday, the team will have a 50-minute practice session in the Arena, as will all eight teams in the city for first-round games, with a 30-minute press conference scheduled either before or after. LSU will practice at 6 p.m. MST with its press conference scheduled for 7 p.m.
All tickets for this regional, where LSU is making its first appearance since 1992, have been sold out for many months and if 1992 is any indication, the arena may be filled with several thousand basketball fans for the open practice sessions.
The winner of the LSU-UAB game will play the winner of the Arizona-Utah State game on Saturday with a chance to advance on in the Chicago Regional.
