Five Tiger Swimmers to Continue Action in Championship Season

Heather Brand will be the lone Lady Tiger swimmer at the NCAA Championships. Brand, a junior from Harare, Zimbabwe, is seeded 58th in the 50 freestyle and 35th in the 100 butterfly.

Diver Jessica Wantz will join Brand as the two compete, March 17-19, at Purdue’s Boilermaker Aquatic Center.

Christian Clausen qualified for his second consecutive NCAA Championships. Clausen has been a valuable senior this season, posting top times in events that he will swim in next weekend from Minneapolis, Minn. The Trelleborg, Sweeden native is ranked 27th in the 100 breaststroke and 16th in the 200 breaststroke.

Talented freshman Miko Malberg is seeded 27th in the 50 freestyle. The sprinter owns a top time of 19.95 in the event.

Niko Dalman, one of the nation’s top freshman divers, will also represent the Tigers in the three-day event that runs March 24-26.

Freshman backstroke swimmer Kevin Braud is listed as an alternate in the men’s 200 back. Braud will continue his championship season next month at the World Championship Trials, April 1-5.
