BATON ROUGE — LSU senior Jason Hazley was named Southeastern Conference Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for his role in LSU’s win over ninth-ranked Texas A&M last weekend, the SEC office announced Thursday.
Hazley, a Bradenton, Fla. native, won his doubles match on court two with Danny Bryan at the match in College Station. He then picked up his fourth singles win this season over a nationally ranked opponent, beating No. 81 Yevgeny Supeko on court three.
Hazley, a team co-captain, is ranked in both the doubles and singles polls at 37th and 96th, respectively. He is a two-time All-SEC and two-time All-Louisiana selection.
Hazley is 14-10 in singles and 17-3 in doubles heading into LSU’s match against seventh-ranked Florida on Friday.
