BATON ROUGE — First-year LSU football coach Les Miles will finally get a chance to see his new team in action next Friday as the Tigers open spring practice on March 11 at the Charles McClendon Practice Facility.
The Tigers will go through 15 workouts from March 11 to April 16. The spring will conclude with the LSU Spring Scrimmage, which is set for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16 in Tiger Stadium. The workout on April 16 will be a controlled scrimmage with game-like situations. The spring scrimmage is open to the public with tickets going for $5 in advance and $10 on the day of the event.
Tickets for the LSU Spring Scrimmage will go on sale on Wednesday, March 2 at the LSU Ticket Office or over the Internet at www.LSUsports.net.
Other events on campus on April 16 include the Tiger baseball team hosting Ole Miss at Alex Box Stadium at 2 p.m., the LSU softball team hosting Ole Miss at 1 p.m. at Tiger Park and the Tiger tennis team facing Arkansas at the Robinson Tennis Stadium at 1 p.m.
The Tigers will hold five practices before taking a week off for Spring Break. LSU will resume its workouts on March 29 and will practice nine times leading up to the spring scrimmage.
LSU returns 47 letterwinners and 20 starters from last year’s 9-3 team that finished the year ranked No. 16 in the nation and advanced to the Capital One Bowl.
