BATON ROUGE — Four LSU men’s basketball players will be honored in pre-game ceremonies for Senior Day at 2:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the 3 p.m. game with Vanderbilt at the Pete Maravich Center.

Two players, Antonio Hudson and Xavier Whipple, will have finished their athletic eligibility after four years, while two others, Josh Maravich and Paul Woolfert, who are seniors academically will also be leaving the program after four years at LSU.

The game has an earlier start time because of a switch for television as the choice of JP Sports as its annual wild-card telecast.

Hudson enters the week having played 119 games with 78 starts and is one of 34 players in LSU history to have scored more than 1,000 points. Hudson is seventh all-time in three-pointers made (158) and is averaging a career best 12.4 this year and a career scoring average of 10.0.

Maravich, the son of the late Pete Maravich, walked on to the LSU program four years ago. Minor injuries and mononucleosis prevented him from dressing for several games this season, but in his career, he has played in 12 total games and been a vital practice player for the Tigers over his time at LSU.

Whipple is the story of perseverance, waiting his turn to be the starting point guard late in his sophomore year and junior season, and understanding his role as a sixth man this season. Whipple is averaging 2.2 points per game and in four years has played 93 games with 39 starts.

Paul Wolfert walked on to the team four years ago, the son of a former Tiger, Rick Wolfert, who played in the mid-1970s at LSU. Wolfert earned a scholarship this past season from the coaching staff and after playing in 19 games, including 10 this season, is on course to graduate in May.

Tickets remain on sale for the game at $12 at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office and on line at www.LSUsports.net. Those attending the noon baseball game Saturday at Alex Box Stadium can show their ticket stub from baseball and receive a $5 ticket to the basketball game. Also bowlers in town for the American Bowling Congress Tournament can receive up to two $5 tickets by showing their membership at the ticket windows on game day.
