BATON ROUGE — The LSU women’s tennis duo of Lauren Seaman and Tiffany Tucker broke into the top 50 in the doubles rankings at No. 48, it was announced today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Seaman and Tucker are an undefeated 6-0 as a pair in dual matches this season at the No. 1 doubles position. They picked up a big win Saturday against then-No. 57 Daniela Muscolino and Carla Zabaleta of Tulsa to help their climb in the polls.
Seaman, a junior from Metairie, La., enters the doubles rankings for the first time since being ranked with partner Rocio Fantilli last season. For Tucker, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas, it is her first appearance in the poll.
This is also the first top-50 individual ranking for the Lady Tigers on the season. As a team, LSU moved up a spot to No. 41.
Seaman and Tucker will put their streak on the line this weekend at Texas A&M as they try to help the Lady Tigers to their seventh win of the year and third in a row.
