LAS VEGAS — Due to rain in the Las Vegas area scheduled to last all day, the LSU softball team’s games scheduled for Friday against UCF and Washington have been cancelled as part of the UNLV Desert Classic.
The tournament schedule will resume on Saturday at the regularly schedule times. The Tigers will now begin play for the season on Saturday against Illinois and Louisville, which are both receiving votes in the poll.
LSU will face the Illini, which the Tigers defeated in the NCAA Regional championship game to advance to the Women’s College World Series last season, at 3:30 p.m. (CT) before concluding tournament play against the Cardinals at 5:45 p.m. (CT).
